"Mr Sun,Sun Mr Golden Sun please shine down on me."

After many days of on and off drizzle, the sun surprised us and made his appearance. His visit was a little brief, but never the less it was just long enough for me to wonder through the garden with a cuppa tea and take in the gorgeous aromas of some of my newly planted rose bushes. I spoke gently to them and told them how proud I was of their magnificent blooms! ( Have I lost it you ask? Well, maybe just a tad!)

Beautiful fragrances and colour make me extremely happy!

(Sad to say it is overcast and misty again.)

Tuesday Toot

IT IS FINISHED ........
So often I start a craft and half way through it gets shelved because it's not turning out how I expected it would! But this time I am very happy with the final result! After the bathroom has had a lick of paint, I will mount it on the wall above the basin.

I thought I would toot my daughter's horn. Here she is making her first mosaic piece ....... a coaster for her daddy.

We are NOISY!

We are a loud bunch...... not so much a "in your face get a load of us" bunch! But we do like to make alot of noise, especially at home. MrGee is probably the most dignified of us all, but believe you me his car bounces along the road from the loud techno music he plays!!! (Yip he's almost 40, and he still has a thing for the dance/techno/trance genre!)

I have been into friends houses where classical music has been gently playing in the background and a truly sweet gentle spirit has been present. I have even commented to them on how peaceful their home has felt. But I could never get my household to show such decorum. We are such a noisy bunch(me included!), and I dare not even TRY and get us to be sweet and gentle...... we are just not that type of family!

We all love to make some sort of noise. Infact I prefer to think of this noise being rather ' wonderful sounds expressed from EXUBERANT hearts' rather than noise!
(Exuberant = joyously unrestrained and enthusiastic (Merriam-Webster Dictinary))

Don't get me wrong...... sweet, gentle and peaceful are great, but I'm not going to bust a garter to try and get my fam to be like that. We are exuberant and I'm proud of it!

TanziPanzi is growing up!

Tanzi came home from Preschool yesterday and announced " The primary colours are red , blue and yellow!" After a rare pause of silence Tanzi asked,"Where did all the other colours go?"
So I pulled out the Plasticine and got her mixing different colours. It was a wonderful opportunity for her to enjoy some hands on learning.

A month ago Cooldude gave his Notebook to Tanzi. Overnight she became a game addict! She refuses to let me help her! (Stubborn little buzzard! )

The other day I went through all my fabrics and cut off the unneeded bits. When Tanzi came home from school I presented her with the scraps ...... her eyes lit up and she declared, "I think my kitty needs clothes!."

The clothes designing keep her busy for a couple of hours. Tanzi cut and stuck fabric together with sticky tape...... she had a ball!

Oh well MrGee is coming home tonight and we're going on a date.

My boys are a blogging!

This morning I had fun tweaking WizzKid and Cooldude's blogs. They have neglected their virtual diaries badly, but with Gibbons FunSchool re-opening in January '09, I encouraged them to reconnect with their cyber buddies. In fact I am going to insist that they blog at least once a week. Hopefully it will improve their journaling skills. Cooldude also needs practise on writing down (in a fluent way) what is going on in his very active mind!

A good report!

Here's a HUGE thank you to all those who lifted MrGee up in prayer over this past week! After his first batch of tests on Thursday, his Nephrologist walked into the hospital room and announced ," You don't need to be here!"
Without going into all the finer details, ........ tests showed that his kidney was functioning better! MrGee is still in fourth stage kidney failure, but he is not as close to dialysis as she had expected!

Praise be to God!

Listen up......

......... that is all you musical families and friends! I have come across this awesome website that allows you to print Praise and Worship chord music for FREE! Yip, if you play an instrument and have the desire to worship the King of kings then head on over to I WILL WORSHIP. I am compiling a booklet of our favourite praise and worship songs as I type!

WizzKid sat at the keyboard and with determination(and a little help from moi) he learnt " How Great is Our God!" (by Chris Tomlin). He did so well..... I can see that a fire has been lit in his heart! This excites me immensely!
Cooldude got a guitar for his birthday, and he is enjoying lessons from MrGee! It feels like a switch has been flipped in MrGee and my lives........ we are once again revelling in the praise and worship of our Savior! MrGee picked up his guitar after MANY years, and I am suddenly enjoying tonking it out on the keyboard after just as many years. How did we lose focus and desire?
What's so exciting, is that I can see my family awakening spiritually ....... What an adventure I foresee!! We are getting our groove back! Praise be to God!

I've decided at last!

Our curriculum order is sitting in my virtual shopping cart awaiting payment!!! I just can't seem to be enticed away from Sonlight. I LOVE SONLIGHT. I have decided to go with Core 5 - Eastern Hemisphere. Has anyone used this?

The last time we received our homeschool package TanziPanzi curled up on it and "gave it loves!"

Getting started on our learning center!

The next school year starts on the 14Th Jan 2009. The boys break up at the beginning of Dec to enjoy a long Summer holiday. But guess what the kids and I have been doing this past week? We have been setting up the home school room! Yes I know it's a l-o-n-g time before we open the doors to "Gibbons Funschool" again, but we are all SO excited that we decided to get stuck in now.






WizzKid's priorities were to get his computor into his little corner and to make sure that the bug light was "Layed to rest!"
CoolDude was commisioned to build Tanzi's stationery holder..... he managed it so well, even without instructions!!
And Tanzi........ well she didn't help a stitch, but she did provide some great entertainment!

I never thought the boys would beg us to return to home-ed. When I asked them why they wanted to be home schooled again their unanimous reply was "The learning we do at homeschooling is way more exciting and interesting than that at normal school!"
Yahoo....... I can't wait to start learning again too!

Update on Mosaic mirror ........

Have a wonderful weekend..... Thanks to all my friends that are praying for MrGee. The hospital has suggested he goes for a Dialysis lecture quite soon. Tests show he has way to much Urea in his blood.
