The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Overall 2012 has been a horrid one!
But let's start with THE GOOD because there was one and it was a biggie!
MrGee's kidney transplant. On the 12th May he was rolled into theatre and fitted with a fully functioning kidney. 7 months down the line and he is doing wonderfully! God was GOOD!
Oh yes.... I lost some weight. That's always good unless you're an anorexic.
WizzKid climbed Mount EvErest to Base Camp!
CoolDude started at Waterfall College in Grade 8.

THE BAD.....for MrGee and I it has been the hardest year regarding our relationship. I don't want to go into it much, but I will tell you that he chose to separate from me for 5 weeks in January. I was devastated and begged him to go to counseling. Which he did and I'm thankful for that.

THE UGLY ..... MrGee and my relationship has gotten worse since the Transplant. Even with counseling and guidance from the church, we have battled and still are. I'm not sure what next year holds, but I will be seeking employment and pushing into God like never before!

Next best thing.

Miss Tanzi has been nagging me for a sister! Being in my mid forties I have told her that 'it ain't gonna happen cupcake.'
Her older brothers (as loving and patient as they can manage!) just don't get her at the moment. They're not keen to judge her clothes designing or even throw a flippin' frisbee with her!!
SO.... Miss Tanzi has been uber excited about seeing more of her cousin....Tori. And I think Tori is happy to spend a few nights with us as her parents go through a divorce. It's a win win situation.

Manager Manager

Since Miss Tanzi was very young, she has loved to make what I call 'nests' all around the house. Initially she would create a little snuggle area for her babies and herself. Sometimes she would make a little house out of chairs and blankets and play for hours in her little 'nest'.
Now she assembles an office and plays 'Manager Manager'. I love her enthusiasm for life and her ability to create her own fun!

Musa!

This little boy is very special to us all. He was named after MrGee because of the help we gave his parents in the run up to his birth. His dad,Paul,is our handyman/ gardener and has been in our employment for about 6 years. Paul is very sweet... The kids joke that he sees me as his mother as he wishes me a Happy Mothers Day every year.;) When MrGee and I had an issue and I went to stay at my moms for a couple of days Paul sent me a message begging me to come home because he was missing me. Sweet hey?
Anyway, the bottom line is that if I had not helped Paul and his wife by getting them admitted to hospital for an induction they would have lost Musa. Because they were so grateful for our help, they named this precious boy.... Musa Boyd Makwakwa.

Not impressed .....

Meet the new addition to our family... FANTA. I'm sure you worked out he's the orange fur-ball on the left. Miss Tanzi initially called him Garfield.... then Killer but Fanta seems to have stuck.
Kate( the dwarf bunny) is very happy with her new playmate, but Mimi( the other fur-ball) is horrified! Hence the walking-away-in-disgust attitude.
I'm sure Fanta will eventually win her over.

First sleep over

Eight year old Tanzi has been begging for months for a sleep over. It's something I've never been keen on, but recently she has made friends with a lovely little girl.... Amy. I have also become friends with Amy's mom. SO....... Miss Tanzi had her first sleep out. And ..... she went with them to Beauty And The Beast production at the Elizabeth Sneddon theatre the following day.

Iliana's Annual Market.

So this is what I have been working towards for the past couple of months...My friend's annual market. It went quite well... I had hoped to sell more but still, I banked a nice amount. WizzKid made me a snazzy sticker for the back of each mosaic, so perhaps I'll get a few calls for commissions.

My mom came with me to the opening ..... a Cheese and Wine evening.

It's in the genes.

Back in her years my Gran built walls, gardened and supplied markets with uniquely knitted and crotchet'd goodies. She also made a mean roast with Yorkshire puddings most Sundays! Although she wasn't a 'huggy' ,lovable type of person we always had fun with her. She made the collecting of garden snails exciting and the piecing of jigsaw puzzles an amazing challenge.
Like my gran, ..... I love to create with my hands and have tried almost every craft. Six years ago I created my first mosaic(a purple cross) and fell in love with this craft.
Today..... I dropped off 43 mosaics at my friend's house. Illana is an artist, and is holding an OPEN WEEK at her house.She is displaying about 50 sellers merchandise. I'm SO excited and really hope people like my goodies!

Cooldude loves Pooh!

Today,fourteen years ago we were blessed with a very special boy,Cooldude. On this day Wizzkid was persuaded to be a 'big boy' and give his new born brother the Pooh Bear he had received when he was born.

Cooldude became so attached to Pooh, that by 6 months of age if anyone tried to take his slobbered-on friend away he would let out a high pitched scream. He had to be washed, dried and popped back into Cooldude's cot before sleep time was up!
Over the next 4 years Pooh Bear had to be hospitalized for numerous limb re-attachments and eyeball transplants.

In one of our many moves Pooh got lost and Cooldude forgot about his bear friend, that is until about a year ago. Cooldude doesn't care what his friends think about his love for Pooh! For his birthday celebration at school he asked me to make this cake.....
