Worth the trouble.

Three years ago we had a water pipe leak in our kitchen that caused our parque flooring to 'pop up' in some areas.Initially our insurance was not willing to pay for it.... but after a little pressure they conceded.

So.... on the 18th March the sanding began......

 after one day of sanding, and one day of varnishing the job was done.We just had to stay off the floors for the following day and then the kiddies had some fun.......

 oh and Fanta.... he got to turn the dial for Twister!

 

So glad to be getting our lounge back after THREE weeks! Yip.... the insurance company just forgot to move us back in. All fixed now, and looking beautiful! So worth the wait and fuss.

He's COOL....

I just LOVE this pic..... and I love even more what's happened in Cooldude and Miss Tanzi's relationship.

You see... they used to rub each other up the wrong way. Cooldude would enjoy teasing Miss Tanzi, and she would react with a nasty,cutting remark.

I believe the relationship between siblings has alot to do with how the eldest deals with the issue. The eldest is more mature and able to restrain him/herself when their 'fruit' wants to explode off the tree!

And.... Cooldude has really been instrumental in turning this volatile relationship into something very sweet.

I'm very proud of you Cooldude..... well done!

3D Animal Cell

I remember when Cooldude did his first project .... he was in Grade 4. Previously he had been homeschooled, and we had no idea of the standard and what was expected of him. He did the best he could without any help from me. Well, when Cooldude got his mark he was horrified! I was also shocked when I saw the standard of the other projects. I realized that the kids MUST have had help from their parents to achieve such good results.It's sad, but you just gotta get with the program.....

So this time I helped him plan his Animal Cell...... and I made the nucleous! eish

Model in the making...

Miss Tanzi's list of what she wants to be when she's all grown up has been lengthened. She has tagged one more vocation onto the list of singer, clothes designer, praise and worship leader, actress,vet, Olympic swimmer...... She also wants to be a model.

Bubble of Joy !

Miss Tanzi fills my life with constant entertainment. Even a simple daily task... Such as brushing her hair... She turns into a fun moment! She got a certificate from children's church last year for being 'A Bubble of Joy'. That's Miss Tanzi in a nutshell.

Zombie Games

Well, it looks like I'll be homeschooling Miss Tanzi this year. I just need to get my head around it, as I thought the homeschooling season was coming to an end and that I needed to get back into my architecture. I put her name down at Hillcrest Christian Academy, but they are chocker block for 2013. But God knows what's best for Miss Tanzi SO.... I asked her what she would like to learn about this year......

"King Arthur and his knights", she replies.
"Are you sure you want to learn about this topic?" I question her. 
"Well, I have two brothers who love to play war,die, zombie games so I think I will be just fine."

King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table it will be!

I'm already getting excited as I type.
 

This is going to be a special year with my girlie.

New improved cast of Friends ....?

Mr Gee and I are blessed to have such good friends. Lets keep the good times rolling..... No pun intended at all! *evil laugh*

New Beginnings

After school I did a 4 year diploma in Architectural Design. It wasn't my first choice, I had wanted to do Primary Ed, but at that time(1987) the government cut their teaching subsidies so unfortunately I was not able to study teaching. I am grateful to God that I have had the privilege of homeschooling my kids for the last 7 years, but I am feeling that this season in my life is coming to an end. MrGee has been encouraging me for a while to get back into my architecture but I have been rather reluctant as the industry has changed so much in the last 15 years with the progression from paper to computer.
I bought a Book on Revit and began my first design this morning..... I actually enjoyed it.

Happy New Year

What a stunning send off to a rather yucky year and a great welcome to 2013, which I believe is going to be a much happier year!
For the first time ever the whole family managed to stay up and see the new year in. We all sipped champagne as we watched a neighbour set off some stunning fireworks.
This morning MrGee and I watched movies in bed till 11:30.... so relaxing.

I am believing that 2013 will be a year of restoration and reconciliation.
