From pretty to witchy in a few seconds!

After spending much longer than normal doing my make-up and hair I was ready to hit the town with MrGee and kids.

It was to be a special evening, so yes, I had packed on the make-up a little more than usual..... I was feeling pretty and confident.
I shouted out " I'm ready, let's go!" and made my entrance into the lounge.
MrGee and the boys gave me the 'What-on-earth-took-you-so-long? ' look.
Miss Tanzi said, "Marm ... you look like a witch!!"

Before I could run back into the bedroom and start all over again, MrGee grabbed my arm, said "You look lovely Fee", and ushered me quickly into the car.

(I think MrGee was SO hungry by this stage that he wasn't fazed how I looked!)

Beautiful.

This is what our family calls a RAPTURE CLOUD .
It's when the sun shines through the broken clouds and causes many beautiful rays of sunlight to be dispersed.
When we are on the road we always keep an eye open for this magnificent sight. The kids and I compete to see who can spot one first!
I'm positive the heavens will look a thousand times more spectacular when the Rapture actually takes place !

"Choose your Adventure" Morning.

CoolDude and WizzKid love the "Choose your Adventure " projects from Sonlight Core 5. We have been learning about China and Marcia's kids have been doing a section on Japan and Korea. A couple of Fridays ago we all got together and each child did a presentation and a short talk on the project they had chosen.
Keagan made a stunning Korean rice dish .......

Which was delicious! All seemed to manage well with the chopsticks ........

except for WizzKid ...... who mastered the art of shoveling !!

CoolDude did a brilliant job of writing a Bible verse (Psalm 91. v4) in the Chinese characters.

We all got to make origami cranes. According to legend once you have made your one thousandth crane, you get a special wish.

....... only 994 left to make ....... hek no !

Chiara created a very interesting travel brochure for Korea as well as a beautiful collage on Bonsai's. WizzKid did a talk on Confucius and debated on some of his famous sayings, using the Bible as the plumb line. Very enlightening indeed !
We shared many a laugh ( Marcia, I'll never forget what you accidentally said!!) and we learnt a lot about the three different cultures.

It was a successful morning!

Miss Tanzi's Report card

"Miss Tanzi is a confident, cheerful young girl. She relates well to her peers, although can be a little bossy at times. Tanzi is very observant and loves to share her observations and thoughts with others. She will often assume a leading role in games with her peers, who seem to be attracted to her wonderful ideas and bubbly personality."

Trip to Jozi !

The kids have been nagging me to go to Johannesburg. It has been 16 months since me moved away from Jozi (Johannesburg's nickname) and they were desperate to see old friends and to visit some of the places we used to frequent.


For a couple of nights we stayed at the beautiful Montecasino Pallazo Hotel. I felt like a queen!



We took a couple of their friends out for the day.


MrGee and I visited Mandela Square in Sandton City ....... I had to have a pic with our dearly loved Ex-President Nelson Mandela.


And then we went to one of my favourite restaurants ...........

But most of all we just had fun catching up with old friends and reminiscing about our old stomping ground . We drove past most of the houses we had lived in. We only managed to see 5 out of the 7. Yip ..... we stayed in 7 different houses during the 9 years we spent in Jozi !!!!

"Read all about it!"

WizzKid's History challenge for the last three weeks has been to "publish" a newspaper. The format of the paper could be modern, but the content had to be about life in the Americas during the mid-18th Century. I did hear a few ..... "This is ALOT of work Mom!" and "Finding the right info is really hard!"

WizzKid sourced all the info and wrote all the articles. He included News, Entertainment, Sport, Classifieds, Weather, Obituaries and Cartoons. When it was all done WizzKid said he had enjoyed the whole process but was glad it was complete! Hope you all enjoy his first publication!

Great family time.

We had an awesome time on Sunday. The sun shone bright .... the whole day!!
This is not the norm for the village we live in. Even MrGee was on form after a serious bout of gastric flu. I think the sun cheered him up beautifully and he quickly got in touch with his mischievious side ........
MrGee and WizzKid battled to grab CoolDude, ...... eventually they managed to throw him in the pool! I made Yorkshire Pudding ..... CoolDude was the only one to see a face! After great time in the sun, we feasted upon roast lamb, roast potatoes, vegetable bake and yorkshire pudding!
Afterwards we all watched a movie .............. I fell asleep ............... of course!






After a wonderful family day , I decided to go to church..... so I visited Hillside church for the first time. Miss Tanzi and I loved it! The praise and worship was good! It was such a blessing to see Miss Tanzi praising the Lord with her arms stretched high.
