We escaped the city..........

Yip.... that's what we did this weekend! And what a great time we had. This is Granny and Grandpa Booms Farm. They are situated in the middle of a Buffalo farm.

We reside in the busiest city in Africa! I will be totally honest with you, the main reason people live here is to earn better money! They don't come here for beautiful views and quality of life!
Every third month we like to take a break out of this rat race, and go and visit family!
So that's what we did! We went to Bloemfontein.(4 hours away). Hubby's parents and his sister's family live there.
Granny and Grandpa share the farm with 5 arrogant turkeys, numerous chickens, 3 dogs, 3 geese, 3 bunnies, and bats that swoop down and brush your hair!!!!! I kid you not!

TanziPanzi fell in love with the bunnies, and tried to protect them from the boys paintball escapades!!!

So,............ we are relaxed and ready to face the rat race for another 3 months! There is talk that we might go and spend a few years in Bloemfontein! Yah!!

Change of Blog Name!

I began having a relationship with Christ 15 years ago. Before that, I had occasionally attended church, and had believed in the existence of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
In 1992, whilst I was intrenched in the world, I met Hubby(to be). I followed him overseas.... he tells our kids that I hunted him down!!!
We holidayed in England for a few months and had great fun. But the most important event that happened whilst I was over there, was that I met my Lord and my friend ,Jesus. I was staying with 2 christian girls who were sisters. One night they ministered into my life, and I gave my heart to the Lord. It was a momentous evening. There were tears and moments of laughing... I knew my life had changed forever!
To cut a v-e-r-y long story short, when we got back to South Africa, Hubby (to be) and I went to a Steven Curtis Capman concert. That night, his songs and beautiful lyrics captured my heart..... and they still continue too!
I have always tended to be pretty independant and self reliant,
but the lyrics to this song by Chapman, remind me that I need Christ to be an integral part of my life..... He is my life blood! It's good to need and want him!
So....... that is why I used the lyrics of this song, in the description of my blog.
--------------------------------------------------
On the bank of the Tennessee River
In a small Kentucky town
I drew my first breath one cold November morning
And before my feet even touched the ground
With the doctors and the nurses gathered 'round
I started to dance
I started to dance
A little boy full of wide-eyed wonder
Footloose and fancy free
But it would happen, as it does for every dancer
That I'd stumble on a truth I couldn't see
And find a longing deep inside of me, it said . . .
I am the heart, I need the heartbeat
I am the eyes, I need the sight
I realize that I am just a body
I need the life
I move my feet, I go through the motions
But who'll give purpose to chance
I am the dancer
I need the Lord of the dance
The world beneath us spins in circles
And this life makes us twist and turn and sway
But we were made for more than rhythm with no reason
By the one who moves with passion and with grace
As He dances over all that He has made
I am the heart,
He is the heartbeat
I am the eyes, He is the sight
And I see clearly, I am just a body
He is the life
I move my feet, I go through the motions
But He gives purpose to chance
I am the dancer
He is the Lord of the dance.

Wind (!) Trio ............

This year we are attempting to learn the recorder. I can't say I have an incredible love for this instrument and it's sound, but I thought it would be a good for my boys to be exposed to an instrument other than the piano or keyboard.
I had to rat on them initially to practice, but now they are quite diligent about it! Even TanziPanzi joins in ..... much to their disapproval!

Happy Daddy Day!

We celebrated Fathers Day last Sunday. Why you ask?....... Well , that's when I thought Father's Day was!! We made a fuss of him a week before the correct date.......... like it really matters! I made Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding... with roasted pumpkin and potatoes!
Just to give him a double blessing I decided to ask our kiddie-winks a few questions about their Dad.

What does Dad love doing?

CoolDude: "Watching movies, taking us out and eating Wonka bars!"
WizzKid: "Working in his own business, and doing lots of things with us."
TanziPanzi : "Fathers Day! "

What do you love about your Dad?

CoolDude: "That he is funny.....he jokes and plays with us alot."
WizzKid : "That he's extremely hard working and he enjoys us."
TanziPanzi : "Jesus!" (O......kay!)

What do you like doing with your Dad?

CoolDude: "Going to technology shops and the movies."
WizzKid : "Learning about computers from him, mountain biking and doing gym together."
TanziPanzi: "The Bird Park .... um ..... with sweeties!"

Give me one word that describes your Dad.

CoolDude: "Generous!"
WizzKid: "I can't describe Dad with one word........ he's hardworking, fun, playful, active, grateful, loving and extremely happy."
TanziPanzi: "Feeding birds..... more birds and big snakes eat us! " (..........?)

Of course dear Hubby......... I know all these things about you! ( Except the snake thing!)
I couldn't have wished for a more wonderful father for my kids! Love Ya!

Tanzi learns to swim!

I have posted a pic of a mosaic piece I completed, 2 nights ago, over here. Go and have a look....... I'm new at this so please don't expect some exotic masterpiece!

My little TanziPanzi (2 and three quarters already!) started swimming lessons last week. She is a natural water baby, and is so happy in and under the water! Of course she asked to be decked out in all the necessary paraphernalia....... pink costume, pink goggles and pink cap!(She was horrified that she had to settle for a green cap!)
At the end of TanziPanzi's swimming I snapped a pic of CoolDude giving her a love! He was SO proud of her!

Ballerina-Edweena!

A month ago TanziPanzi started ballet lessons and was extremely obedient and listened beautifully...... yesterday it was a different story! She didn't listen to the teacher. She ran when she was supposed to hop and she hung on the ballet bar, like a monkey!, when she was supposed to sit quietly and practice her 'fairy arms!'

At the end of the lesson I asked her why she had not listened....... she answered "Cause I a weal Balleweena now!" Then I realised that it was her first lesson with proper ballet shoes! Ahhh...... She obviously thinks that she's beyond tutoring already!!

(slap bang in the middle is our "Princess of Wonderland")

At home, before the lesson, I managed to snap a few photos of her co-operating!

You have captivated our hearts little Ballerina-Edweena!( Daddy's nickname for her)

My Sister!

I mentioned in my previous post, that the pics were taken just before I left for a lovely evening out!

Yes..... what a great time I had! Hubby's oldest sister and husband pastor a church of over 15 000 people in a smallish town called Bloemfontein.( translation= flower fountain) Their church is not only growing in leaps and bounds, but it is impacting the city and the peoples lives in an awesome way! It is quite miraculous to see a church with equal numbers of African and European people all praising our Lord with one voice! Bloemfontein is an Afrikaans community that had very strong ties to the past Apartheid government... so that is why this occurrence is even more miraculous!!

Yip... so my sister-in-law invited me to a ladies meeting, at which she would be giving the message. All I can say is WOW....... the decor was beautiful, and the woman were blessed with drama, dancing, fellowshipping, numerous surprise gifts and a challenging message from my sis! I was so proud of her. (In a godly way of course!)

Snapped before we left ............ the brunette and the blonde!!!

I love you sis...... I see your strength and your humility!

I am no longer photoless!

Two months ago my digital camera died on me! I have no idea why.... one day it worked, the next day it didn't! What I do know, is I was extremely upset that my 'memory catcher' was no longer with me!
I have managed to blog with fewer pictures............. and with the odd cellphone photo.
But yesterday my dear Hubby sent me out to buy a new digital camera. He has such a precious heart! He saw how I was pining after my loss and he resolved to cheer me up!teehee
Just before I left for a lovely evening yesterday, I let the boys take turns taking a few pics.

They were thrilled that I allowed them to use my new toy,...... and I was happy that the pics came out so well!
Many more pics to follow........ without a doubt!

I am sort of back............

Hello dear friends! Boy-oh-boy have I missed conversing with ya all! It has been extremely hard not posting on our daily events!!!! But the break has been good, and I feel a whole lot better for it!
What's happening in our lives.........
CoolDudes Writing has miraculously morphed from ugly scrawl to beautiful script!OVERNIGHT! He's also had a breakthrough in his reading, and is now able to ENJOY his readers!
WizzKid is having a Month Of Maths! He is SO excited, NOT! He is streaks ahead with language that I have decided to get his maths up to a similar level.
I am on a Mozaic frenzy, and am enoying upgrading some rather boring elements in our house with the mosaic technique! I'll showcase some of them soon.
TanziPanzi has joined us in the classroom, and is settling in quite well. Her daily 'work'(as she calls it) consists of seeing how much playdough she can stamp into the carpet and threading beads. At first she refused to do the beading, as there were "no pink ones!!!!"
Hubby is working hard...... what's new! His business is taking off, and he has employed 3 new people.

So that's our lives(at the moment) in a nutshell
Love to you all
Fifi
