Returning from the DVD store, my kids bounded into the house absolutely overjoyed! For the first time ever they had won a raffle! Excited screams of "We won, we won!" filled the house. I made them pose before the raffle was ripped apart ...... their fingers were just a itching to explore what lay inside!

New learner at Gibbons Funschool!

It was back to school today. We have had a wonderful 2 week break, and all of us are rearing to learn again! What made it even more exciting, was that TanziPanzi joined us for her first official school day at Gibbons Funschool. I wasn't too sure what to expect ......but all went smoothly.

Well sort of...............

We started off with praise and worship. Tanzi cracked the boys up with her ballet moves and attempts to karate kick them in the groin! Of course they found this very amusing, spurring her on to deliver even harder blows!(I stepped in, and gave the "Is that a good thing to do!" lecture.)

I settled Tanzi down and let her glue shapes onto paper, while I read the Bible to the boys. She quickly caught on that raising her hand gave her an opportunity to speak. So every other minute she would slip her hand up. I would ask "Yes, Tanzi?" And she would blurt out "Goolie" or "Gung-gung". Just to get attention, and make the boys laugh!

While the boys did Maths and Afrikaans, Tanzi and I went onto the computer and learnt about Annie Apple (the 'a' sound). We are using Letterland. It's a unique phonic-based approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling to 3-8 year olds. Every letter is assigned a friendly pictogram character which helps the learners remember the sound that letter makes. It's brilliant and loads of fun.

After this we did a couple of puzzles and I showed her a picture book about the birth of baby Jesus. We went through the book again, and I made her tell me the story. Wow..... what an interesting version she came up with!

With Tanzi in our midst we're in for a lot more laughs and a few testing moments !!!

L ........Loud........ yip that's me. If I have music on it must be loud, if I sing the neighbors can hear me! I even walk heavily. I am always singing or making some loud noise, and Hubby often requests for me to "Tone it down a little!" TeeHee
Y ........Young at heart.... when it comes to music. My kids think I'm quite cool, as I love the latest music that is played on the radio. Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas, Anastasia and club remixes are some of my favorites. (As long as the words are kosher!)
N ........Nostalgic..... I love casting my mind back to times gone by(the good and the bad) in my life. I love to live in my memories and keep them alive!
N ........Newsy..... I just love the news.The first thing I do when I wake up, is log onto Sky News! And telling Hubby about what's going on in the world is part of the deal. He will say "Just give me the Headlines Fee!".... but I like to tell him the full story with every bit of detail!We are so different, it's wonderful!

Fashionista time!

I have started to make dresses for orphans. Of course TanziPanzi loves to be my model,.... but is also insistant on keeping the merchandise after exhibition!!!! We have had to have many a talk about how sharing is caring...but still she has little understanding that I am making these dresses for children that have no mommys or daddys.

I want to take her too the orphanages, so she gets to understand what I are going on about!

Time well spent...............

We have been away for the past 5 days. Hubby had to go to Durban (5 hours away) on business, so we all happily traipsed along. Durban is my home town so we visited family and friends whom we hadn't seen for quite a while!


Here are my parents and my children........

I finally got to hold my cousins adopted son, Joshua. He is 8 weeks old and his final adoption papers have just been signed ............. so he is now totally theirs! He is absolutely gorgeous. CoolDude wanted to hold him all the time!

Below is my very happy cousin and her baby we have prayed for ALOT! God is good!

Of course I am extremely excited because Hubby and I stood in agreement that we will move back to my home town at the end of the year. Our house is up for sale, and when that is complete we will move down to the coast! I am looking forward to getting out of Johannesburg and spending more time like this......... My kids were freezing though,...... we're in the middle of Winter!

Mmmmmmmm....I'm getting there!

I have been flat on my back most of the week! Yip the nasty flu got me! But this morning I woke up with a head that was not throbbing ..... I jumped out of bed and started doing the dance of joy and singing "I'm better, I'm better!" Of course this woke the family, so I made them all come and have tea with me! I had missed them so!!!!
Well, I thought I would post a few pics from the week. Yes.... a girl is never too sick to take the odd pic ya know!(Especially when her flu-tabs kick in!......"I believe I can fly".........!!)

Definately one of the most beautiful creatures on earth!

On New Years day 2007 we visited the Lion Park. It was a beautiful day out amongst my favourite wild animal.

I thought I'd post on this again as I have new friends who "wanted to see some African lions!!!!"

2Great books!

I am reading two very different books at the same time! The pink one on the left is by Julie-Ann Barnhill and is called Radical Forgiveness.The other is by John C. Maxwell and is called Dare to Dream....... then DO IT.

Julie-Ann Barnhill was the guest speaker at a ladies weekend I went to a couple of months ago. I have never laughed so much in my entire life. She is just so real and extremely funny! We all have hurts, regrets and failures and lack of forgiveness in our lives........ Julie makes you realise that we all mess up often! In fact she encourages you to repeat the sentence... "I am a mess of magnificent proportions!"

I mentioned that I have felt an urgency to be more responsible with my giftings and talents. The John Maxwell book is challenging me in SO many areas of my life. It is to the point and extremely motivating. The U.S President Thedore Roosevalt said..... "Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."

Medicine Breakthrough!
After 3 years of pleading, begging, threatening and at times having to use force, our sweet little angel took medicine orally! I would try and disguise the medicine in coke or cool drink, but her taste buds always out did me. In desperation I would give her suppositories. Okay, so I did have to negotiate with her. I asked, "Do you want medicine in the b*m or the mouth?" Now that she is getting older the latter sounds a lot more pleasant. " In da mouf Momma." Success at last!
Missing Cat. Our one year old kitty, Boots, went missing on Tuesday!We are all very heart broken.
Boy's Glands the size of golf balls!
CoolDude was probably the sickest he has ever been this week. He's now on the mend after 2 days on antibiotics.... but his glands are still huge. He has bronchitis and has to be nebulised every 4 hours.
Kissing Neighbours!
A little boy, the same age as Tanzi, lives next door. His "nanny"( nick name for caregiver) told him that TanziPanzi is his girlfriend! Hubby and I were not too impressed with the assumption that our little girl was willing to date at such a tender age! teehee. So we told her that he is just a friend. She said, "But I can kiss my friend!" So are the feelings mutal? I think I need to monitor those play times!! LOL!
