Take heart, take Courage!

So much is happening in my life at the moment! It is quite overwhelming.
Bottom line ..... my 15 and half year old marriage is in ruins.
I don't generally share such intimate details on this 'Blog of Happy Memories', but I tell you this knowing that I am stepping into my 'Esther Moment'. A moment that was prophesied over me, 18 years ago.
It is all about choice, and I have chosen to approach (as Esther did) rather than refuse and walk away! Last week I saw divorce lawyers because I wanted a divorce. This week I seek reconciliation as I realise I have come to a critical moment in the fulfillment of my destiny. It's going to take a lot of courage. As Beth Moore says .... " You may be one brave decision away from the most important turning point in your life."

Oh sweet FiFi, I am so very sorry that you're going through these tough times!! Marriage takes a lot of work. I too have been married for over 15 years and it's not been all fun and games. We cling to what we know is right and we try to work through the hard times. If anyone has told you that had a perfect marriage, they're probably lying to you!!

You are so wise in your decisions and I'm sure you are seeking out the Lord about everything that's going on. I will pray for you and the whole situation. Thanks for being so candid with us all out here in the blog-world. It says a lot about your character.

I love the quote from Beth Moore! How very true that is. I pray that your decision will be according to God's will and that He will clearly show you the path you are to take.

Blessings, my friend!!! Sending lots of hugs your way.

Dear Fiona,
I don't really know you but just wanted to drop you a quick not - I was just leaving to host a ladies advance for our church and 15 mins late already but I could not leave without writing.
Know that you can trust the Lord - easier said than done, I know, but He is faithful.
You are not alone and hold onto the hand of the Lord.
I just finished the Esther bible study with our ladies here and it has made a huge impact on many lives.
For such a time as this you are hearing these words from this study.
So stay strong in the Lord ~ He is our source, strength and hope.
Ps. 46:1-3 ~ "well proved help in times of trouble" Amplified version.
I have to run but will catch up soon.
Hugs and blessings,

Thanks so much Kim and Cheryl.... I really am grateful for your love and concern. I am so torn.... I know that God wants me to fix my marriage, but trying to work it out with MrGee is just so difficult and exhausting .... it's his way or the highway!

I'm so sorry to hear this.
And I agree with Kim, no marriage is perfect, there may be perfect moments within a marriage, but I know of no marriage that is without problems.

My advice right now is do NOTHING. Step back, take a breath. Don't proceed with divorce, and don't 'work' on the marriage just yet. Just step back, give yourself room to breathe. Pray, not desperate prayer, pray instead faithful and grateful prayer. Pray for your husband, not for him to change, just pray for him, for his health and his happiness, and his success. And pray for yourself in much the same way. And pray for the two of you as a couple, whether you forge ahead as a team or go your separate ways, today you are a couple, you may be broken and battered, but you are still a couple. And pray for you as a couple to heal and succeed, and that you support each other no matter if you continue on in the marriage or if you decide to live your lives apart from the marriage.
Be good to yourselves. Be good to each other.
God Loves you both so much.
I will carry you in my thoughts and in my prayers.
God Bless your family.
All the best to you,

Fifi, I'm so sorry that things have gotten so bad. Seems that this world is creating an epidemic in marriage problems. However, we do read about these things even in the Bible. I will pray for you and your dear family, for your hearts and the pain you all must be feeling. I hope that you are successful in reconciliation, what a great example that would be. I hope that you can be sure without a shadow of a doubt of what you really should do.

Oh Fifi, I am so sorry. I don't know the ins and outs of your marriage, so I won't offer advice. I will pray for peace, for clarity to know when your feelings are lying to you, etc. I will pray that God will move in your hearts in a mighty way. In the meantime, know that you are so valuable and precious to the Lord and cared for by your friends- sometimes marriage can be lonely, but you are not alone.

{hugs} Fee. I have been exactly where you are right now, so I know just how tough it is. What I found is that at the time I was so worried about the children, the decisions to be made, all the repercussions etc etc, that I completely forgot to think about ME, to spend some time pampering myself... the result was that I came out of all of it a nervous wreck. Please take time out as you walk this road to nurture yourself and to affirm yourself.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers xx

When I commented on your blog last night, I forgot to tell you that while I was driving yesterday, you totally came to my mind. God loves you, and he is reminding others to hold you up in prayer.
