It's all so exciting!

As I post this, my hubby (MrGee) is being shown around Cummings in the Forsyth County of Georgia. He is checking out a couple of the suburbs. I did mention to him about a dozen times to take many pics, So I hope to get feed back very soon!
He was SO impressed with Atlanta. His words to me were...... " It's so clean and organised, and everything works!" Coming from Africa, this is an important factor, as things don't work very well here!

She loved her week holiday!

A little over a month ago MrGee bought me a parrot. I named her Sweet-Pea. Oh how I adored her. She loved to sit on my shoulder, cuddle and hide under my hair. She would nibble my ear and kiss me on the cheek. THEN..... one day she bit me so hard on the finger. I was mortified and a little scared to interact with her after that!
About a week after the biting incident, my Mom and Dad came to stay. My Dad seemed to take to Sweet-Pea, so I suggested they have her. A week later we delivered Sweet-Pea to my parents.

Sweet-Pea ....... became a "he" called Sweetie!
All was well for the first couple of days. She(I mean He) was bought a snazzy ladder and a zooty hide swing. I think he was spoilt rotten. It seems Grandparents don't just do that with grandchildren!! But as my parents soon found out, this bird was one demanding chick!!!!

So..... today after a wonderful holiday with the Grandparents, Sweet-Pea returned home. I realise now that I had missed her loud sqwaaks and funny little noises!

Yes, I will try again. But this time I will be armed with a well padded leather glove!

Coming to America .......

MrGee leaves for New York today. He is hoping to visit Atlanta to get a feel of this state. We have done a little research, and we like the look of Lake Allatoona.
Cummings could be an option. Have any of you blogging girls visited this area? Any advice about Georgia and settling there? We will be homeschooling so schools are not a worry. WizzKid is a good swimmer so we would need to be near a professional swimming facility. CoolDude loves his tennis so we would need to be close to a good tennis club, and Tanzi is a budding gymnast so having those facilities near by would be great too!
Any advice?

(BTW....... It's official........ We will be returning to homeschooling in Jan 2009. Both WizzKid and CoolDude will be returning home and they are thrilled! MrGee and I are very excited about it too!)

She Does Hair .......

About a week ago I came across a wonderful blog owned by a very clever mom called BlackEyedSue. Her space on the blogasphere -SHE DOES HAIR- is predominately dedicated to the creation of beautiful hairstyles for the girly-girl. She is SO creative and I am so inspired!
Photobucket
Twinkle loves the finished look, but keeping her still during the process(30 -40 mins) has proved to be quite something!

Portrait of Mother.

Twinkle wanted to do the activity I had created for the "Home of Love" kids. She coloured in the different facial parts, cut them out and stuck them onto the oval-shaped face. Then she added a hat and declared " This looks just like mom, but I must give her some hair!" She added the pink and blue hair and said, "Yip, this is now Mom!"

I asked why I had been stabbed on each cheek? "Awww Maaarm, that is your beautiful make-up!" (oki-doki)
See any resemblance?

Hairy Maclary and Slinky Malinky!

When WizzKid(my eldest) was 4, I came across a very sweet series of books in the local library. We laughed as we read and re-read the antics of a mischievous dog named HAIRY MACLARY. They were a hit with CoolDude, and now Twinkle can't put them down. The author is Lynley Dodd. She has also written a series on a cat called SLINKY MALINKY. They are definately my favourite choice for a bed time story!

Yebo....... We're pitch black & powerless!

I sit here posting in the dark! Eskom(S.Africa's only electricity company) is playing silly boogers again and without any notice they have cut the power! We have a small generator....... but Murphy's Law...... Mrgee unplug it two nights ago as we hadn't needed to use it in a while! It was taking up space in the lounge so MrGee let it's power run down and he packed it away under the staircase! Urgggggghhhhh! And then the power ....... "she go out!" I have posted a clip of my favourite radio show ...... The Rude Awakening...... they are very clever( at times rather risque!), and in the clip below they have written a song about our ever increasing darkness in the S. of A.!!!

CoolDude is making food on the gas stove and I blog quickly before my notebook battery dies on me!

xx

(BTW..... CoolDude loves to cook! Just incase you thought I was being a lazy so-n-so sitting on my blog and demanding my child to cook dinner!!)

Such beautiful girls.........

........ inside and out!
My nieces from Bloemfontein came to stay with us for 3 nights. What a breath of fresh air they both are. I was SO impressed with their pureness and gentleness, their willingness to help and their honouring of elders and those in authority! WizzKid got a few pep talks from Angie(almost 18yrs.)Thank you Ang!
We got to watch movies.... Prince Caspian and Hancock.
Bake loads of Fairy cakes.........

I laughed and laughed!

The other day I found Twinkle sitting at the dinner table looking like this...............
Photobucket
Me: "What have you got on your nose?"
Twinkle: "It's a plaster maaarm!"
Me: "Did the cat scratch you?"
Twinkle: "No Maarm, I'm trying to stop my nose running."
Me: "Hahahaha!" [makes a dash for the camera]

click, click................
Photobucket
Twinkle: "Stop that , I (em)barressed!"
Me: "Aww Twinkle you're so cute!"
Twinkle: "Now I very angry!!!"
Me: I pack the camera away and commence damage repair![silently snickering]

Say hello to Lizard Boy...........

This is one of CoolDude's nicknames!
Every other day the cats bring in a lizard. They range from little baby ones to long/fat 10cm ones!! They absolutely gross me out! Especially when I stand on a dead one and it squishes between my toes!!
CoolDude has no problem with them...... he can pick them up alive ....... or half eaten with their guts hanging out!

What's with my kids?

Do you remember this post about......

TWINKLE and the Repulsive RODENT ?

They don't get this courage from MrGee either. I remember MrGee waking me up in the middle of the night(ON OUR HONEYMOON!) and asking me to help him get rid of the smallish spider that was making it's home above our bed.

(hehehehehehehehehe)
