Picture this.........

.............. My eldest and I have parked the car and are walking into the cross country arena. On the back of his running shirt he has "Hillcrest Christian Academy" written in big white letters.
As we briskly walk past a group of runners, we hear a young girl shout "Oh my G-d Dad!!!!!"
With which my son comments ........ "Well, we know where she's going!" ......... I start to walk a whole lot faster! I am now extremely embarrassed!
My eldest is a black or white type of guy........ an' no one can keep him quiet if he feels strongly about something!
I might need to do a refresher on "THE LOVE OF GOD", though !!?

Oh -- that's funny. I over heard my children playing at the park. The other children kept taking God's name in vain... my 4yo finally said, "You are sinning."

Eekk... Well -- it was true. Why am I afraid for her to say that?

Why do we cringe? Because we feel it's rude? Give your kiddo a pat on the back... ;)

Hey Fee,
That is SOOO my son too! He is so disgusted at other kids when they talk like that. He has a very low tolerance for anyone who takes God's name in vain. As much as I agree with him...he needs to learn to love the sinner but hate the sin...especially when advertising! He has a shirt from the Voice of the Martyrs that he loves to wear. It says "This shirt is illegal in 51 countries" etc. I told him that any time he wears a shirt like that (which I LOVE) he needs to be extra cautious how he behaves and what he says about others. Being salt and light in this world is hard sometimes....when you know someone is doing the wrong thing or saying something wrong, it's so easy to just tell them off! It does feel good though, especially when standing up for Christ! = )

Sarah picked this awful saying up from someone and we have to get on her almost daily about it. It's hard breaking this habit in a 2 year old who really does not understand. She picks things up so much quicker than the older girls did at this age and repeats them over and over. I wish adults would be more careful about what they say!
Hugs

My children are horrified when they hear that too. Such a thoughtless disrespect to the King. It is an offense to the ears.
