Our Fine feathered friend.

Photobucket Photobucket

Larry arrived just over a week ago. MrGee named him after his sister's yellow budgie that met a terrible death at the paws of their dear kitty cat! Deja-vu?........... I hope not, as I have grown VERY attached to this lice ridden beaut! He was initially very scared of us, but now, he's desperate to snuggle with us! He has bonded with me beautifully and loves to sit on my shoulder, and nestle in my bushy hair!
Photobucket The other day I was loving and stroking him and he did this maneuver...... he became SOOO still that I thought I had killed him! He was fine....... just in major relax mode! hehehe..... sjoe!

Oh you are funny! Ever read "Of Mice and Men"...the character Lennie (I think that was his name) loved his little mouse so much that he pet him to death - literally! Your comments on the last photo reminded me of that. Oh my!!

Thanks for the nice comments on my blog about my love for England. Actually, I do love Europe as a whole, but my heart is in Scotland! I am Scottish myself, so my love for it has grown over the years...ever since our visit during our honeymoon. I also have a huge place in my heart for South Africa from when I lived in Port Shepstone back in the 80's. What a gorgeous country!!

Best wishes on your new little bird, he's adorable!

Hugs,
Elinor

How sweet! We had a cockatiel that we found in our front yard. He was tame like that and loved to be held. He could say a few phrases and whistle a few songs too!

OH MY-SO CUTE! I wonder how you know when they are going to have such personalities. This birdie reminds me of my great Aunt's first Benji bird. He was so much fun. He just ran around free and we would hold him and let him pick our teeth pretending he was a dentist. GROSS!-only a child could enjoy this. But we loved him until the day my aunt accidentally sat on him (be careful Fee!). Benjis #2 and #3 were never quite as charming as the original. :)

How cute is Larry!?!?!

No birds here, we did that years ago. Someday I'd like to try it again.
