Eyes Wide Open .............

For a while now, I have been wanting to help in an orphanage or school, particularly with children that have lost their parents to AIDS. Yesterday I overheard a mother at Tanzi's school talking about a community preschool that had opened it's doors that day. I asked if I could come and help. She said that they are so understaffed that I would be very welcomed.
So off I went this morning...........
The preschool has enrolled about 30 children between the ages of 1 and 6. Most of whom are either HIV positive or have full blown AIDS. A couple of the kids are not infected, but have just recently lost both their parents to this terrible virus.
What an eye opener......... at first they were unsure and frightened of me..... but after an hour of crying, they eventually settled. The morning ended on a very good note with me running after the little munchkins playing 'The Tickle Monster!' Squeals of delight were even heard!

How precious! I can just picture the sea of faces with smiles!!
What a blessing you will be to those children.
My hubby and I would some day like to open an orphanage, the Lord has not seen fit for that to happen, but we trust that day will come.
BLess you for being a servant in a land that has been robbed of so much.
Blessings on your day!

What a wonderful thing to do. As Kim so rightfully said, Bless you for being a servant in a land that has been robbed of so much. God Bless you and those little ones, you'll all be in my prayers.

Matt 6:19, lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven---by serving these children in this way, you are definitely storing up treasures that are heavenly.
I'm so proud of you for doing this.
Valley of 1000 Hills was one of the first places hubby took me to visit. I'm going to see about donating to this organization.
Thanks for sharing.

So glad that you can be a help to these little ones. And what an example you will be to your own little ones and to all who watches. I'm sure they will capture your heart as you capture theirs. Nice to know that they will be blessed with you to brighten their lives.
